FYI, I baked the first pumpkin pie of the season today. Apple comes the day after tomorrow. The leaves are still almost all green. (The chestnut leaves are turning an ugly shade of brown.) The 1st graders are taking their apple/pumpkin picking farm trip next week, and the Halloween kick-off parade is Thursday. Which means I'd better get cracking on some costume magic NOW.
